Tuesday night I put the kids to bed and when the hubs came home from work - instead of our regular routine of rushing through getting the laundry done, prepping for the next day, putting dishes away and resuming our spots on the couch to catch up on our latest shows - we sat outside under the stars around a warm bonfire...and just talked.
I swear that life is rushing by so quickly that I'm sad to say I can't remember the last time Adam and I sat...just him and I.. and had totally random conversation. Not about strategizing about our children's behavior, what homework is done and what needs to get finished, projects coming up, work meetings that conflict with our regular schedules, planning for upcoming events, summer activities for the girls...you know the typical family business that needs taking care of so we're at least on the same page. It was just total randomness...and even laughter. It was so much fun that I didn't want the fire to die down that eventually forced us inside. It was so nice to just forget about the daily goings on of life for a minute and focus on the things in life that matter most to us...each other...our family.
We made a promise that night that we will resume our random conversation around that bonfire...just him and I...at least once a week.
**The next morning the girls started in on a game of 20 questions when they discovered that the bonfire lid was off and laying in the grass. After we came clean about our little 'date' - they were so happy and gave us their stamp of approval to have as many 'date nights' under the stars as we wanted after they went to bed. We are so blessed - I can't even begin to express how much!**

Monday night I posted on Facebook that if I got at least 25 likes on that post, I'd post a giveaway here on Mom-a-Logues every day this week.
